MotoGP 14 is a motorcycle racing game that is officially sponsored by the Moto Grand Prix World Championship. Fans of this will recognize many historic racers and events as some modes recreate what happened in previous races. There are many bikes to choose from along with numerous tracks to race on.

Numerous Game Modes

MotoGP 14 has a large number of game modes. This ensures you can play for many hours and experience the fun in different ways. The main mode is Career Mode. Here you create a custom racer to serve as your avatar. You can change how they look along with the bike they ride. You will then progress through the races until you hold the MotoGP championship in your hands. Along with racing, you'll also be managing bike upgrades, contracts and working with different teams.

Classic Mode allows you to select either a single track, a specific championship race or several tracks to race against the computer or your friends. You can choose if you want to do the associated training sessions or just the race. You can also select how many laps to do before the race is over.

Real Events 2013 is a very unique mode that will appeal to fans of Moto Grand Prix World Championship. You must recreate some of the events that happened during this race. There were many unbelievable wins and losses. This mode tasks you with overcoming the odds and ensuring that you repeat exactly what happened. Even if you're not an existing fan of these races, you can think of this as a challenge mode where you have to win very hard races under extreme circumstances.

Another mode is Challenge the Champions. Much like the Real Events 2013 model you'll be tasked with recreating historic races with legendary riders. The only difference is that many of these races happened over a decade ago or longer, which is ideal for fans who love the legends. You get to use their iconic bikes and remake history.

The very last mode is online multiplayer where 12 human players can race against each other. This can be very challenging based on who is playing at the time, which is perfect if you want to see how good you are.

Controls

The controls are somewhat different that car racing games. You can choose between Arcade and Pro driving styles. Arcade is better for beginners because it basically prevents you from falling off the bike. It can happen, but it's very rare and only happens during tight turns. Pro mode is faster and gives you more control, but you'll have to be careful. The physics are more realistic with this driving mode, which can lead to you falling off your bike or skidding to the side.

Graphics

MotoGP 14 has greatly improved on the graphics from the last game. Not only have many details been added, but everything looks more realistic and polished. Everything from the people, bikes and scenery looks realistic. It's like watching a race, but you're controlling all the action. The bikes and racing gear have different texture that reflect light appropriately. It adds a layer of realism that was lacking in the previous title.

Along with that you also get weather effects like rain and sun, rubber marks left on the track from intense races and extra details along the way that make each track feel real.

Audio

Unfortunately the audio could be better in this game. While there is music in the background, many players consider it dull because it doesn't add to the action. There are also sound effects for the bikes. You'll hear the engine, crashing sounds whenever it hits something or the brakes squealing when you brake. These sound effects aren't quite realistic and could have been better. Even the environment sounds from the track seem dull.

Perhaps the only highlight when it comes to sound is the commentary. Professional commentators have been recorded to talk about the race and they sound great. Not only that, but what they is relevant to the race, so it seems realistic.
